Identity, film

for

Ferreira Coachworks

in

2023

Ferreira restores one car a year in a former bus depot outside Braga. For their new identity we waited until dark, opened the doors on this year’s coupé and let its headlights be the only light in the hall.

One car a year

Ferreira Coachworks restores one car a year in a former bus depot outside Braga, and every car leaves with its name painted on the dashboard by hand. Their identity had been a clip-art wheel.

Lit by its own lamps

Hugo drew a new mark from the letters on an old coachbuilder’s plate found in the depot. For the film we waited for dark, opened the doors on the finished coupé and turned the depot lights down until its headlights did most of the work.

“We had never seen one of our cars like that. Usually it’s under strip lights with someone shouting about a bolt.”

António Ferreira, founder of Ferreira Coachworks

The film runs on their website and at the two car shows they attend each year. The waiting list now reaches 2029.
